A month and a half shy of Johns high school graduation, his world was turned upside down. In 1994, at the age of 18, John and some friends were involved in a catastrophic car crash that ended the lives of three young men and left John with life-threatening burns to 75 per cent of his body. Waking from a coma several weeks later to learn about the tragic loss of his friends and facing an incredibly challenging recovery, John miraculously found the inner strength to move forward.

His amazing journey of healing and self-discovery has inspired him to devote his life to helping others. He is currently providing support and assistance to other burn survivors. He has also quickly becoming an accomplished public speaker and tours schools to promote safe driving and safer choices among youth.

Through his powerful presentation, he hope to inspire his audiences to think about the seemingly simple choices they make behind the wheel and in their everyday lives and to weigh the possible consequences of those choices. Told with humor, hope and significance, his story is compelling and uplifting.
